Write a list of 6 ordered pairs to show the height of the candle in inches (y) as a function of time in hours (x) from the first hour after it started burning. For example, the point (0, 6) would represent a height of 6 inches after 0 hours. Explain how you obtained the ordered pairs.
You can think about this logically. What would happen to the candle as it burned?
it would melt... and the wicker would shorten...but how is that going to help me
If it shortened the would the length of the candle be greater than or less than 6?
less... this is obvious
if you dont know how to do it thenill get someone else..

obviously it would be less than 6, so after one hour the ordered pair would be 1,x where x is < 6. There is no way to how much less it is so just pick a number say 5.5.
so now you have two ordered pairs (0,6) and (1,5.5).... assuming the burn rate or the shortening rate is the same What would be the length after 2 hours?
If you can figure that out just repeat the process for the rest of the points.
Would you please start this question yourself...and then share your thoughts, your work, your reasons for feeling stuck. Unfortunately your comments here seem to indicate that you want someone else to do your work for you and that you're going to fish around until you find someone to do that. No soap.
"it would melt... and the wicker would shorten...but how is that going to help me?" Each measurement of the height of the candle will be smaller than the previous one. So RetirED's suggestion was very much relevant.
