OpenStudy (math_genius12345):

please, someone help help me find my error? In circle A shown below, Segment BD is a diameter and the measure of Arc CB is 48°: Points B, C, D lie on Circle A. Line segment BD is the diameter of circle A. Measure of arc CB is 48 degrees. What is the measure of ∠DBC? My answer: 42

OpenStudy (math_genius12345):

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Angle CDB is an inscribed angle and as such, it equals one half the value of the intercepted arc. So angle CDB = 24. Angle DCB = 90 degrees because it intercepts 1/2 of the circle or 180 degrees so angle DCB = 90 degrees. A triangle's three angles always sum to 180 degrees, so angle CBD = 180 -24 -90 angle CBD = 66 degrees

OpenStudy (math_genius12345):

@wolf1728 are you sure about angle DCB? thank you for the response, though! these are my options: 48° 66° 24° 42°

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

I'd definitely choose 66

OpenStudy (math_genius12345):

okay, thank you so much for your help!

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

u r welcome
