Is referring somebody to a calculator, cheating?
Nope if the question was something like : ``` Find the value of sin(3) ```
It depends on the calculator. A regular calculator like a scientific calculator that does basic operations is not considered cheating. But giving them something like wolframalpha or mathway and telling them to use that is cheating, since they learn nothing. The first example, they use a calculator to simplify numbers and such and they know what their doing. The second example, they have no clue and are just getting an answer. Just my thoughts. :)
Oh Okay, I did refer somebody to Mathway because I use that to check my answer. Thank you for letting me know :)
If you refer them to that at the end for them to check their answer, I wouldn't consider it cheating. But solely relying on that to solve the question, in my opinion, would be considered cheating.
Well said :)
And now a days, there are calculators that can solve all kinds of questions. You can search up a quadratic equation calculator to cramer's rule calculator. The possibilities are never ending.
Yes, and I know that usually the calculators do give you the answer, all you need to do is input the answer. No more old fashion stuff where you have to work it out.
Yes :)
If it is I am #1 at it
