first you need to look up the formula for the area of a paralleogram. You will find that the formula includes the length of the base (which is 17 in your case) and the height or altitude (which is unknown in your case) BUT you know the area so you have an equation A= (something to do with base and altitude) From that it will be a simple step to find the altitude. So first find the formula for 'Area of a parallelogram'
