umerlodhi (umerlodhi):

Can I be a mod? this is a site suggestion, it will benefit them a lot! I am very strict, Like a Mongoose. :)

umerlodhi (umerlodhi):

@Brainlyofficial

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

pooja195 (pooja195):

How to become a Moderator: First rule: You must be 18+, due to legal issues. Second rule: You have to be, and act mature. Then you have to win the respect of this community through interaction, knowledge and the ability to interact and intervene in an appropriate manner. It is in big part based on participation, courtesy and respect. The most important thing is that you let the administrators and moderators know that you can see things going awry, and that you are willing to make some effort to solve/prevent it. And certainly NOT in a way like messaging them about how bad you want to be a moderator (this will only work contradictory), but they have to notice that you are up for the job. Then, when they decide they need more moderators, you might get asked. ◘ Being on the site for a fair amount of time. (usually more than 6 months) ◘ Be an good and active user on the site ◘ Having a squeaky clean abuse record. ◘ Have good rapport with fellow users. ◘ Having a good sense of justice. ◘ Being an expert in some field. Most of the mods are math geniuses. But any subject would suffice. ◘ Doing a great job in the ambassador program. In the ambassador training period, you'll learn how the rules work on OpenStudy and you'll learn how to make the right decisions. ◘ Hope you'll get lucky when they decide to add more moderators! ~thomaster

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

The chances are very small, if any.

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

The worst part of IT, IS to ask to be one :(

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Eh I see no negative reason to ASK to be mod although I don't see any mod material on this site as of right now. Not myself, not any users,etc.

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Cry, anyways, we are still trying to push Abb0t4Mod2k14, soo

sammixboo (sammixboo):

;)

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

#Abb0t4Mod2k16

imqwerty (imqwerty):

Yes +1 #umer4mod2k16

sammixboo (sammixboo):

It's been many, many years of competition, sweat, and hard work, yet Abb0t has not become a mod.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

The way you put this question makes me feel you have been recently punished by a moderator for some reason you think is silly! That feeling aside, I don't see how anyone can possibly predict you can never be a moderator. If you could convince most of our users that you know what you're talking about, you could be a moderator. As the name says moderators are moderate, not strict. They have to do boring things such as deleting spam and controlling trolls. But a good moderator has a fair understanding of the concept of justice and tries to minimize his actions as much as possible acting only when it is absolutely necessary.

Mehek (mehek14):

@umer gg m9

umerlodhi (umerlodhi):

so is that a yes?

umerlodhi (umerlodhi):

OpenStudy (samanthagreer):

Hey you tagged my what do you need :)

OpenStudy (samanthagreer):

What was your Question

OpenStudy (samanthagreer):

Well i cant answer that question but 1. you have to met the qualifications that @pooja195 posted 2 , i might be wrong but i think since Brainly bought OS they arent making new mods 3. i have seen and heard that if you ask to be a mod you will not become a mod and that it isant something that one signs up for but is chosen because of how they act . Does this answer your question ?

umerlodhi (umerlodhi):

u dont

Zeronknight (zeronknight):

Asking to be a mod is one of the worst things to do, but they know you're up for the job. But after with what you just said there, I doubt you will become one.

Mehek (mehek14):

@umerlodhi No sorry

OpenStudy (wit):

@umerlodhi OpenStudy discriminates against mongooses.

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

Do we really need more mods right now

Zeronknight (zeronknight):

Could you not be so disrespectful against mods? They try their best to keep this site clean, and safe for all of us.

OpenStudy (wit):

@Zeronknight I disagree with the "try their best" part of your claim.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

That made no sense. Please write your thoughts in a coherent manner. Oh, you probably don't know what coherent means... coherent means consistent and logical Learning new words at age 11. Nice ;)

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Did you mean to ask: You can't ask to \(\color{red}{become}\) a moderator. You have to wait until some other mod asks you, right? The answer is: You can ask to become a moderator. Your chances just decrease of becoming a moderator. Also, a moderator will not ask you if you want to become a moderator since they cannot make decisions like that. Preetha makes the final decision on new moderators. We don't know how the new process will be now that Brainly has taken over. :)

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Giitter, even though Brainly has taken over OpenStudy, the rules on both sites remain the same. Also, OpenStudy is based in US and we have to follow the COPPA laws. So we cannot allow users under 13 (like 11 year olds) on the site. Brainly meanwhile is headquartered in Poland and does not need to follow COPPA.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

If you were 13, you might have understood. It's something called a law.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Also, you happen to be spamming the post by bringing up our age rule on a post about becoming a moderator. If you want to continue this discussion, please open a new thread.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

\(\color{blue}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @GIitter There is something called "studding" and do I do that for Social Studies? Yes. Yes I do..... \(\color{blue}{\text{End of Quote}}\) I'm glad you do this "studding." But as I said, please open a new thread if you want to continue discussion this topic.
