I wanna ask a very simple question today. I challenge you to prove that a stone is Non-Living thing.

Stones are just minerals aggregated together.
For anything to be a living thing first it must be a cell. The cell is the basic unit of life, simple.

Secondly, it must be able to reproduce, passing it's genes via sexual and asexual reproduction. Viruses don't do this and therefore, they are non-living just an example.

Thirdly, they have the ability to maintain its survivability. They search for food, plants get their food from the sun, animals however get their food from the environment and to do that they \(requires~ energy\). Through this, they are able to \(grow\); increase its size and the number of cells.

Fourthly, ageing and death.

Pretty sure stones don't do all of these. ;) because they are already D E D

Right, I want you to re read what you said. You said that stone does not reproduce, doesn't grow, doesn't show metabolism or does not have any of the characteristic of living organism. Correct so what you did is that you proved stone is not living. You did not necessarily proved that stone is non-living. For that you have to prove that stone has characters of non-living things. For that first you have to tell me the characters of non-living things.

In simple terms what you did is told me that stone is not president of US and hence stone is non-living

Growth. Living things grow. Stone doesn't.

Living things use energy. Plants use it from sun and others from food.

Living things reproduce.

Living things respond to external stimulus. They have at least one of the 5 senses.

Adaptation. Living things eventually adapt (or try to adapt) to environment.

Also despite of being made of atoms, living things are organised at cell, tissue, organ and system level.

Excretion of waste products, etc.

characters of non living thing are nothing but the opposite of the characters of living things which lack of reproduction, sensitivity, growth, excretion, nutrition, etc. However, there is no scientific name for lack reproduction, etc. If there are those will be the characteristics present in a stone...

Well, stone can't move itself, stone can't grow larger, stone didn't do metabolism, stone don't eat or drink, stone didn't need to do adaptation to environment, stone don't do reproduction, none of the characteristic of living things apply to a stone
