If it's a saga then to some extent I'd say emotion. If its a place and time of events being formed into a story, then narration. :)

Hmm as Sammi was saying it depends on the form of writing.  Also the point of view it's coming from.  First person = More on the Emotional side.  Second person = A little a both.  Third person = Monotone usually who MAINLY focuses on narrating.  In this case I'd have to say A.
