OpenStudy (boxman61):

Find the volume in L of a box that id 10.0in by 5.0in by 2.00in

OpenStudy (boxman61):

makes it 100in cubed if 1in = 2.54cm then 100in^3 = 254cm^3 1mL = 1cm^3 then 254cm^3= 254mL and 254 mL = 0.245L

OpenStudy (boxman61):

im not sure if the conversion to in^3 to cm^3 is correct

OpenStudy (boxman61):

just found out that conversion is wrong 1in^3 = 16.387064cm^3 new answer to follow shortly

OpenStudy (pythagoras123):

You are cubing both sides of sides of the equation so the value before the unit has to be cubed also. \[1 inch = 2.54 cm\] \[1 inch^3 = (2.54cm)^3=16.387cm^3\]

OpenStudy (boxman61):

100in = 1639cm^3 1639cm^3 = 1639mL 1639mL= 1.639L or 1.64L

OpenStudy (pythagoras123):

Yes, that is correct.

OpenStudy (boxman61):

thank you
