OpenStudy (biggbig18):

Suppose the heights of the members of a population follow a normal distribution. If the mean height of the population is 68 inches and the standard deviation is 4 inches, 99.7% of the population will have a height within which of the following ranges?

OpenStudy (judygreeneyes):

Remember the Empirical Rule, also called the 68-95-99.7% Rule? It says that approximately +/- 3 s from the mean will contain 99.7% of the data. So 68 +/ 3(4) or 68 +/- 12. or 56 in to 80 in in height.
