The notation simply gives you 2 functions with the brackets telling you the values of (x, F(x)) and (x, G(x)) so for instance when x= 4 you can read that F(4)=6 and G(4) = 7 so - as a start can you write down F(2) and G(2) (look in the brackets for (2,??)

I gave you examples above look in the list after F{ I showed oyu that (4,7) is in th e list The meaning of this is if x = 4 then F(4) = 7 so can you do the same for if x=2 then F(2) =?

I cannot be more clear than above. All you need to do is look in THIS list {(0, 1), (2, 4), (4, 6), (6, 8)} and tell me the number that is inside the brackets with (2,?)

OK good so that means that F(2) = 4 now do EXACTLY the same with the list after G= to find the number inside teh brackets (2,??)

Good so now oyu know that F(2) = 4 G(2) = 5 Now you need (F + G) (2) = Thgis means oyu just add the other 2 numbers...
