What can you say about the end behavior of the function ? f(x) = -4x^6+6x^2-52 A. The leading coefficient is positive so the left end of the graph goes up. B. f(x) is even so both ends of the graph go in the same direction. C. f(x) is even so both ends of the graph go in opposite directions. D. The leading coefficient is positive so the left end of the graph goes down.
It's multiple choice but i'm only getting B
your answer is correct :)
There are no other answers?
The leading coefficient is -4. Is that positive or negative?
Negative, thank you!
Which means it can't be A or D. And if both ends go in the same direction, it isn't possible for it to have both legs going in opposite directions. Also, the way to check if a function is even/odd is by plugging in -x in place of x If f(x) = f(-x), the function is even If f(x) = -f(x), the function is odd If it isn't either of those, the function is neither even nor odd.
@TheSmartOne would you be able to help me with another question?
Sure :)
@TheSmartOne
Any ideas? You're multiplying f(x) by 2 to get f(x), mhmm
I think it's D because when I graph it it looks like it stretches but i'm not one hundred percent sure
Is it D?
Correct :)
Ok thank you!
Anytime! :)
@TheSmartOne Sorry to ask for your help, I just need to get all the answers correctly. Is this correct?
C is correct, but there aren't any asymptotes take a look at this graph: https://www.desmos.com/calculator/h7u1prnwib
Ok, so they are logarithmic functions?
yes, the answer is C and D :)
@TheSmartOne sorry last one. Is this correct?
correct :)
Thank you so much! :D
Anytime! :D
