For a, I got (12, -8) and b, (3, -2)... it marked it wrong... am I doing them wrong or is there a mess up in the lesson?

Possibly a glitch. I notice how in the problem given there are no spaces. You however have a space between the comma and the next coordinate. Try it without spaces.
