OpenStudy (debbie_js):

Why series circuit have greater current than parallel circuit?

OpenStudy (sharmagk83):

Because in series circuit current remains same throughout the circuit but in parallel combination current get divided in different parts of the circuit.

OpenStudy (radar):

Current value is dictated by Ohms Law. I = E/R Note that series or parallel is not in that equation. Current depends on the circuit components and their configuration. Do not casually state that series circuits have greater current than parallel circuits, it depends on Ohms Law.
