The ratio of red marbles to green marbles is 3 to 5. Which situation follows this ratio? 30 red marbles and 18 green marbles 70 red marbles and 42 green marbles 51 red marbles and 85 green marbles 9 red marbles and 24 green marbles

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

This is basically like creating equivalent fractions. Ratios are like fractions so you would need to find what choice is equal to \(\frac{3}{5}\).

OpenStudy (haleighmoore22):

ok.. so whats the answer.. sorry i really need to get this done fast

OpenStudy (jadeishere):

Okay, so with a 3 to 5 ratio, get a calculator and divide 3 by 5. 3 divided by 5 = 0.6 Then do the same with each of the given scenarios 30 divided by 18 70 divided by 42 51 divided by 85 9 divided by 24 Whichever one equals 0.6 is the same as 3:5 We can count out the first two, because they would be whole numbers. (x > 0.6) So that leaves the last two. Divide those two and figure out which one is equal to 0.6

OpenStudy (haleighmoore22):

so 51 divided by 85?

OpenStudy (spider_mastermind_4):

correct

OpenStudy (haleighmoore22):

thanks

OpenStudy (spider_mastermind_4):

welcome
