"If we didn't have banks in the US, then we wouldn't have the help we need for gaining a loan, buying a house, and storing money in a tightened pretense of security. Government can affect the way banks operate in that they can either shut the banks down or keep them steadily up and running via federal funds. Banks are important and so are the bank users."
