1. Coffee was developed in the middle east. They began to export it and this was big money for the middle eastern region. They wanted a monopoly on coffee so they only exported coffee grounds so nobody could grow coffee for themselves. But eventually some seeds escaped and the lost control of the trade. ~yahoo
