Please help will medal 33÷11×(-4)-5

pooja195 (pooja195):

@salemlover352 What have you done thus far?

OpenStudy (salemlover352):

Ik it's PEMDAS, meaning id have to do (-4)-5 first. That's kinda where I'm stuck. Youd have to multiply them right?

pooja195 (pooja195):

Not quite. You wouldn't multiply anything, because there is a subtraction sign

pooja195 (pooja195):

Think of it like this: \[\huge~\rm~\bf~\frac{ 33 }{ 11}(-4)- 5\]

OpenStudy (salemlover352):

Okay so what do I do then?

pooja195 (pooja195):

PEMDAS We know there is no parentheses, exponents, and multiplication so what's next?

OpenStudy (salemlover352):

Ohh so (-4) doesn't count as parentheses. Then youd do 33÷11 first, meaning itd be 3×(-4)-5

pooja195 (pooja195):

Yep keep going!

OpenStudy (salemlover352):

33÷11×(-4)-5 3×(-4)-5 -12-5=-17. Right?

pooja195 (pooja195):

Yep well done! :~)

OpenStudy (salemlover352):

Thank you!!

pooja195 (pooja195):

You're welcome! ^_^
