OpenStudy (darius12):

Y=3x-3 Y=X+1 can some one help me answer this question with work

OpenStudy (evoker):

Are you trying to solve the system of equations, if so you can use either the substitution or the elimination method.

OpenStudy (darius12):

Evoker yes and how do you do that

OpenStudy (evoker):

OK well substitution is perhaps easiest for this case, since y=3x-3 in the first equation in the second equation where we have y we can replace it with 3x-3 yielding 3x-3=x+1

OpenStudy (evoker):

Then solve for x. And once you know what x is you can substitute into any of the starting equations to find y.
