Is this correct? similar triangles

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

image attached. question: Are the following triangles similar? Justify your answer. my answer: 24/8 = 3 36/12 = 3 The two triangles are similar because their sides are proportional.

OpenStudy (hey199):

your right

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

hmmm I didn't learn about that yet.

OpenStudy (perl):

It is sufficient for a right triangle to test one pair of corresponding sides. "Two right triangles are similar if both legs of one are proportional to the legs" So your work is correct.

OpenStudy (perl):

Here is a link to different ways to demonstrate similarity. http://www.regentsprep.org/regents/math/geometry/gp11/LsimilarProof.htm
