Help, Please!

OpenStudy (braydonlevi99):

\[R(r _{1} + r _{2}) = r _{1}r _{2}\]

OpenStudy (braydonlevi99):

Solve for: \[r _{2}\]

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Step 1: distribute R on the left side.

OpenStudy (braydonlevi99):

\[Rr _{1} + Rr _{2} = r _{1}r _{2}\]

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Now bring the term with r2 from the right side to the left side, and get rid of the term without r2 from the left side.

OpenStudy (braydonlevi99):

How do we do that?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Wait. You just need all terms with r2 on one side. It's easier to just subtract Rr2 from both sides, so all terms with r2 will be on the right side.
