Is this correct? similar triangles

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

image attached. question: Can you prove that the two triangles are similar? Justify your answer. my answer: 5/4 = 1.25 25/20 = 1.25 According to the SAS Similarity Postulate, the two triangles are similar, because two sides are proportional, and the included angles are congruent.

@TheSmartOne

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

than you check the little image this angle is formed by sides with length 4 and 5 but in the biger image not is same - so in this case how you think can being similars ?

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

20 is the side opposite the angle and for the other side, we have no value for the side opposite the angle and so we can't create a proportion with the other sides since we aren't given any more information

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

So I guess I would have to answer that there isn't enough information to solve? @TheSmartOne

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Yes, there isn't enough information to know if the two triangles are similar :)

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

OK, thanks:
