Need help with Algebra1 Quadratics Problem:Solve Using Quadratic Formula 2x^2 = 3x – 10

OpenStudy (welshfella):

first write it in standard form 2x^2 - 3x + 10 = 0 Now insert the values into the quadratic formula a=2, b - -3 and c = 10

OpenStudy (sen_turtle):

Well I was confused at the end where you have to get the square root of negative 71.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

that's an imaginary number Have you come across them before? imaginary and complex numbers?

OpenStudy (sen_turtle):

I know what they are but I don't know how to get the answer with them.
