BUS TRAVEL: 2 buses leave Houston at the same time and travel in opposite directions. One bus averages 55 mi/h and the other bus averages 45 mi/h and the other bus averages 45 mi/h. when will they be 400 mi apart

OpenStudy (allen27):

@zzr0ck3r

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

Car ones distance is given by \(55x\) where \(x\) is time, and car twos distance is given by \(45x\). We want to know when, once we add them, they will be equal to 400. \(55x+45x=400\) Solve for \(x\).

OpenStudy (allen27):

x=4

OpenStudy (allen27):

correct?

OpenStudy (allen27):

@zzr0ck3r

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

there are 3 buses in there, now "One bus averages 55 mi/h and the other bus averages 45 mi/h and the other bus averages 45 mi/h."

OpenStudy (allen27):

ok

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

\(\Huge \checkmark\)

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):
