OpenStudy (frieda_betrand):

Find the surface area of the cylinder

OpenStudy (mathmate):

Lateral surface area = \(2\pi r h\) Area of two ends = \(2\pi r^2 \) Total surface area = \(2\pi r (r+h)\)

OpenStudy (frieda_betrand):

The radius is 6 feet and the height is 20 feet. How do I plug in the numbers into the problem?

OpenStudy (phi):

first do the 2*pi*r*h but replace the letters with the numbers, and multiply it out that is the lateral area then do the area of the two ends (circles) both are pi * r*r

OpenStudy (phi):

in case it's not obvious, r is for the radius, and h is for the height.
