precal question

OpenStudy (cloverracer):

OpenStudy (phi):

square root of a negative number is not real.

OpenStudy (cloverracer):

so it would qualify under imaginary and irrational numbers?

OpenStudy (cloverracer):

@phi

OpenStudy (phi):

you would get \[ \pm 4 i\] where \(i = \sqrt{-1} \) that is imaginary, and rational. (usually roots give irrational numbers, except for "perfect squares" , like here)
