In an animated film, a simple scene can be created by translating a figure against a still background. Write a rule for the translation that maps the rocket from position 1 to position 2.

starting at point (x,y) and translating to a new point (x1, y1)

depending on which way the rocket moves, the x and y values will change by a certain amount, say x chjanges by h, and y changes by k, h and k are constant values

You see the new point is now,

(x1, y1) = ((x + h) , (y + k))

so x becomes x plus some distance in that direction,and y plus some change in y value

y--->y+k
