You wash dishes for a chemistry laboratory to make extra money for laundry. You earn 12 dollars/hour, and each shift lasts 75 minutes. Your laundry requires 12 quarters/load. How many shifts must you work if you wish to wash 10 loads of laundry?
Okay so you want 10 loads, 12 quarters per load so there's 120 quarters for 10 loads, 120 quarters is the equivelant of 30 dollars so how many hours would it take at $12/hr to reach 30 dollars...you're doing 1 and 1/4 hours per shift, and so 2 shifts is 2 and 1/2 hours so what does 2 and a 1/2 hours give you...1/2 of 12 is 6, so 12+12+6 equals 30...so that's 30 dollars....so you need 2 and a half hours which is the equivelant of 2 shifts.
Also this is more of a math question than a chemistry question haha.
@JoceIM I mean, it is a math one, but it says chemistry. lol
My answer is 24 shifts.
