Should my band go on tour? I'm really wondering what people would think after reading all my old lyrics.
To be very honest, I think this is a question that YOU should be asking yourself. Firstly, we all cannot judge your band by only lyrics that we've read. Secondly, we haven't heard ANY thing musical at all. How can we be of any help there? Thirdly, this is a decision of your own and how you personally feel about it. We really can't help out. Does that make sense?
@Atsie I'm @A_Burning_Masquerade. You've read all of my old lyrics. We're gonna do it regardless of what anyone says. Basically this is just a passive way of asking who will come and see for themselves what we are about. Plus it's in honor of our two members who passed away recently.
I understand :)
I hope you understand that lyrics have almost nothing to do with the success of an artist. It's unfortunate but extremely true. All you have to do is listen to any currently popular music and clearly the lyrics are not what made them famous. This is especially true when performing. If you thought people didn't listen to the lyrics in a recording, they especially won't have a clue in a live performance and if anybody does know the lyrics, it's because the artist was already famous. That being said, I realize this was probably just a plug for your band. Honestly, if you're still asking this question, it probably means you're not ready. There's a lot more to it than just deciding you want to go on tour.
If your questioning yourself and us if you should tour then that shows that you guys aren't quite ready. You should be confident in yourself. Start of with local gigs and then slowly take bigger steps. If you just go out there and tour and then nobody shows up to any of your gigs it's gonna pretty much ruin your carreer and your confidence. I understand that it's in honor of your close friends but you gotta believe in yourself. Have confidence. Good luck tho. ☺☺
Like in earlier comments, again don't take such huge steps. Baby steps. It's for the best
He's already going on tour. They're in the process of planning it as I'm typing this. Also he knows lyrics don't have a lot to do with the artists success but at the same time when David writes anything he always makes sure he has gone through it. Like his song Generations for example. I'm not sure if he ever posted it before but either way the lyrics to him are more important than playing the music. David keeps saying things like "if it's not from the heart, mind, body, and soul then it's not worth performing." Say what you want about him they have pretty big success in the South Eastern United States. They want to travel all over North America and they are. Their going to open a GoFundMe for anyone who wants to help contribute.
Before I forget the tour is in Matt and Ryan's honor who both passed away in a car accident recently. So it's extremely important to David this tour happens.
Also they're ready to make this step. They've grown a lot in the last several months. They deserve this opportunity.
