No because genetic engineering has all sorts of side effects. Positives: allowed researchers to completely understand the blueprint of a person, impacts fields of medicine, biotechnology, and life sciences in a positive way, health professionals can more rapidly identify mutations in a genetic sequence. Negatives: interfere with process of natural selection and biodiversity, would create perfect upper class since all diseases would be cured, racial discrimination and weapons of mass destruction, highly expensive and not available to everyone.
No I wouldn't want to have my DNA kept for my doctor because they can use it for different purposes without my consent. Pro's: helps see illnesses in patients faster, con's: everyone's fingerprint and medical records available for public.
This would affect the population as a whole because like I said, all the diseases would be cured, which creates a perfect upper class. The lower class citizens would look up to the standard of the elites.
