@welshfella @retirEEd please help

OpenStudy (welshfella):

when multiplying vectors by a number just multiply each number in the vector example 2 * <2, 1> = <4, 2>

OpenStudy (welshfella):

after multiplying add the individual parts eg <1,1> + <2,3> = <3,4>

OpenStudy (welshfella):

to be more accurate the 'numbers' or 'parts' in the vectors are called components

OpenStudy (iwanttogotostanford):

oh ok so I would get <-27, -9> and <-12, -12>

OpenStudy (welshfella):

No I mad a mistake the first one is 9 * <3 , -1) = <27, -9>

OpenStudy (welshfella):

second one is right so now you add < 27, -9> and <-12, -12>

OpenStudy (welshfella):

= <27 - 12, -9-12>

OpenStudy (welshfella):

correct

OpenStudy (welshfella):

just add each corresponding components

OpenStudy (welshfella):

sorry gtg right now.
