help me sketch and explain this function
The time dependent wav function of the electron in the Hydrogen atom (corresponding t the 1s orbital), is: \[\psi _{1s} (r,t)=Ce^{\frac{-r}{a_{0}}}e^{\frac{it}{t_{0}}}\] where r is the distance between the electron and the nucleus, t is time, while C a0 and t0 are real positive constants. The electron density of the orbital is determined by \[|\psi_{1s}|^{2}\] show that \[|\psi_{1s}|^{2}\] is independent of time and sketch a plot of \[|\psi_{1s}|^{2}\] as a function of r.
that will help alot!
unfortunately it will not help me because that is high informative of orbitals, wave functions, amplitudes, nodes etc. This touches more on the subject of mathematics for physical chemistry.
actually if u read it your answer is in the 1st and second page
I believe this plot should be 3d since there is a function in relation to two things instead of one example:|dw:1472772299372:dw|
looks like u can figure it out on your own
give me a quote because I don't see what you are referring to
i don't want to give the answer away so no i cannot But here is A Better Suggestion TRY GOOGLE!
I've fully read what you said to read you can't be more specific? If google gave a sufficient explanation i wouldn't be here.
TIME NEGATIVE ? YOU GOTTA GIVE A REASON FOR THAT
oh yeah I didn't mean to draw that, just trying to make the point of a 3D plot
AND YOU HAVE DRAWN WAVE FUNCTION LINEAR , IS IT LINEAR ? CAN IT BE PROPORTIONAL ? I MEAN IT TELLS THE POSSIBILITY OF FINDING ELECTRON RIGHT
look i know what the wave function of hydrogen's orbitals look like. its basically representations of a node and two lobes of amplitude. i'm trying to figure out way to mathematically represent this by the complex function i have been given with a sketch. I already know that time is pretty much pointless here but i should have some representation of why. also there are imaginary numbers so that means i need to include an imaginary plane.
I didn't draw a function yet.
ITS TRUE YOU GONNA NEED 3D , BUT I AM TRYING TO RELATE IT WITH R
