Why was the Sacco and Vanzetti case controversial? They were executed although there was little evidence that they were guilty. They were released although there was evidence that they were guilty. They were anarchists who wanted to start a revolution. They were deported although many people thought that they should have been executed.
still need help? if so what do you think?
About three weeks later, Sacco and Vanzetti were charged with the crime. Their trial aroused intense controversy because it was widely believed that the evidence against the men was flimsy, and that they were being prosecuted for their immigrant background and their radical political beliefs. http://www.digitalhistory.uh.edu/disp_textbook.cfm?smtid=2&psid=3387
