I'm not sure if you still need help since you closed the post, but if so... To add functions first we need the denominators to be the same. In this case, they are both x - 10. Then, we keep the denominator the same and add across the top. (4x + 2x) + (-3 - 8) all over (x - 10). That gives (6x - 11)/(x - 10). If you have any questions about this, please let me know.
