One gallon is equal to 3.785 Liters and there are 1,000 mL in one liter. Based on these data, what is the volume in mL? There are 1,000 grams in one kilogram. Based on this data and the density of water (1.00g/mL), what is the mass in grams? Volume ______ mL? Mass ______ g? Please explain. Thank you!

OpenStudy (kj4uts):

Would that be for volume 3,785 mL?

OpenStudy (blazeryder):

So to find the volume in ml you need to multiply 3.785 by 1000 and you would get 3,785. So you did get the correct answer for the volume of the water in ml!

OpenStudy (blazeryder):

Do you have any idea on how to get answer for Mass in grams?

OpenStudy (kj4uts):

Ok thanks. Now for the second one I am confused because it says 1 gram a mL and their are 3,785, so then wouldn't 1 * 3.785 = 3,785 again? Thank does not make sense.

OpenStudy (kj4uts):

I guess they are both 3,785

OpenStudy (blazeryder):

Yup! You got it!

OpenStudy (kj4uts):

Thanks for your time and help :)

OpenStudy (blazeryder):

No problem! Have a nice day!
