Can anyone help me understand this will give out medal. Simplify. 4x^2(x) + (x)(x)^2 I know that the answer is 5x^3 but I don't know how to simplify the expression itself please help!

OpenStudy (avirllavinge2017):

here out you would simplify Simplifying (x2 + -4)(x2 + -4) Reorder the terms: (-4 + x2)(x2 + -4) Reorder the terms: (-4 + x2)(-4 + x2) Multiply (-4 + x2) * (-4 + x2) (-4(-4 + x2) + x2(-4 + x2)) ((-4 * -4 + x2 * -4) + x2(-4 + x2)) ((16 + -4x2) + x2(-4 + x2)) (16 + -4x2 + (-4 * x2 + x2 * x2)) (16 + -4x2 + (-4x2 + x4)) Combine like terms: -4x2 + -4x2 = -8x2 (16 + -8x2 + x4)

OpenStudy (avirllavinge2017):

sorry If this doesn't make sense! trying my best to help , tag me if you need more information or help!

OpenStudy (rollfaceblah):
