Awolflover1 (awolflover1):

Which is a sentence fragment? A.This morning the sunrise was spectacular B.She asked me to, so I did C.A pencil, four sheets of paper, and a ruler D.We bought milk, bread, eggs. Need help @jabez177

OpenStudy (avirllavinge2017):

I believe D is a fragment , because it should be written as "we bought milk , bread "and" eggs".

OpenStudy (avirllavinge2017):

what do you think @Awolflover1 ?

OpenStudy (dylan_tang):

Which one doesn't have a subject.

Awolflover1 (awolflover1):

I dunno i feel like B...

OpenStudy (dylan_tang):

Why do you think it is B?

OpenStudy (avirllavinge2017):

I thought that first but I believe it is C because what @Dylan_Tang is saying which doesn't have a subject? but c and a doesn't have a subject, these kind of questions are always trickey

Awolflover1 (awolflover1):

okay, i see.

OpenStudy (avirllavinge2017):

But I'm leaning more towards C because at least for A , you can call morning a subject because spectacular is describing that subject , being the adjective. C though , doesn't seem to have any subjects at all!! would u really believe a pencil , paper and rule is a subject? I wouldn't .. so what is your thoughts now @Awolflover1

Awolflover1 (awolflover1):

Oh, i agree with C then thanks!

OpenStudy (avirllavinge2017):

actually it is C because the definition for fragment is of a Sentence Fragment. Sentence fragments are groups of words that look like sentences, but aren't. To be a sentence, groups of words need to have at least one independent clause. An independent clause is any group of words that contain both a subject and a verb and can stand on its own C doesn't have a subject nor a verb so C is correct , medal?

OpenStudy (avirllavinge2017):

Also , your very welcome!
