OpenStudy (liaannne):

Filtration is an effective method to purify water for drinking. True or False?

OpenStudy (cuanchi):

depends of the pore size of the filter and the possible contamination of the water

OpenStudy (liaannne):

Oh, well if you were asked this what would you say?

OpenStudy (cuanchi):

The question is too broad. That is my answer. There is not one answer, can be true or can be false

OpenStudy (cuanchi):

If you have already potable water you dont need filtration or any kind of filtration will be fine. If you have water contaminated with cyanide, depends of the type of filtration that you used will be good or not

OpenStudy (liaannne):

I dont think that the question is worried about weather the water is contaminated or not. It just wants to know if its true or false. And I was going to say True. Do you think thats correct?

OpenStudy (cuanchi):

both answers or none answer can be correct depends of how you explain it. The question it is not specific about type of water or kind of filtered used. http://www.enviroalternatives.com/watermethods.html https://www.drinkmorewater.com/water-purification-methods

OpenStudy (brainzonly):

We will have to assume it as True

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

The simple answer is False, because a standard filter will not be able to remove toxic ions for instance.

OpenStudy (brainzonly):

your are right.
