OpenStudy (becca9898):

Multiplication (Use significant figure rule) (5.430*10^4)(1.44*10^8) So far I know it would be down to: 7.8192*10^12 But after that I am confused.

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

rebecca this is right so in this way with this result

OpenStudy (becca9898):

Yes, but it does not follow Sig Fig. My answer has to have at least 3 significant figures, but I am confused on how to find them.

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

do you know the scientific notation of a big number like 1,32*10^23 for example

OpenStudy (becca9898):

I am aware of scientific notation, and how it works. I am confused on scientific notation with significant figures. However, I think my answer would have to be 7.82*10^12 because I need 3 significant numbers, I would round up the 7.8192 to 7.82 because that would be 3 significant numbers?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

try look it there : http://www.uky.edu/~garose/signfig.htm

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

yes rebecca i think in this way how you ve wrote above will be correct

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

with this 7,82 *10^12

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

hope helped you good luck bye bye
