P(x<3) is the area under the triangle to the left of 3 you can most easily find it as 1 - area of small triangle to the right of 3 (height 0.25 and width 1 makes that area 0.125 and 1- 0.125 = 0.875) (notice the entire area of the triangle is 1 -- as it should be)
