OpenStudy (jonathan34):

21

OpenStudy (wolfman77):

Sorry Elsa.

Elsa213 (elsa213):

Now explain how you got the answer...

OpenStudy (wolfman77):

Well, for 19 I just added 10 to 9. |||||||||| + ||||||||| = |||||||||||||||||||

OpenStudy (bmz):

thank you

OpenStudy (wolfman77):

Your welcome...

Elsa213 (elsa213):

Good job! o;

OpenStudy (wolfman77):

Oh, and for 21..... 9+10 actually does equal 21. See watch, 9=3*3 10=5*2 so now 5*3=15 and 3*2 equals 6. add 15 and 6 which equals 21. That's how I always do it anyway. :D

OpenStudy (wolfman77):

Thanks

The numeral 21 has no place whatsoever in this discussion. Align the two numbers 9 and 10 vertically for easy addition: 9 +10 ------ What is 9+0? What is 1 + 0? Copy this text, paste i in a new frame and show the sum.
