OpenStudy (starfireandrobin):

Can somebody help me and explain to me what this means? "Practice representing two quantities using only one variable." How do I do this?

OpenStudy (brainzonly):

a variable is like x, y or z. Quanity is how much is multiplied, etc by it.

OpenStudy (starfireandrobin):

No, I know this. I just don't know how to "represent two quantities using one variable".

OpenStudy (starfireandrobin):

@brainzonly

OpenStudy (triciaal):

example 2 quantities one is 7 more than the other x, (x + 7)

OpenStudy (triciaal):

example the length is twice the width L = 2w so 2w, w

OpenStudy (mathmale):

I agree with triciaal here. Supposing that one variable is represented by x, and that the second variable is 7 more than the first. Then the 2nd variable is x+7. Right.
