I need help coming up with ideas for this prompt?

I’m going to paraphrase the prompt so it doesn’t show up on turnitin or something but basically:

Write about something that happened in your life. Did it turn out as you thought it would or did it turn out completely different?

We read a story about a man trying to decide if he wanted to return to the military or not and ended up not going back despite thinking he might, so that’s the kind of thing the teacher is looking for I think.

Maybe if someone can tell me what they would write about if given this prompt it can give me some ideas, since we don't know each other and it'd be hard to tell me what to write about my own life.

Okay, not sure if I am getting your assignment right. But this is what I would write. Like the directions say, you need to right about a time something happened to you and it did it turn out how you'd expect it to or totally different? I would choose how something didn't turn out like you would have expected it to (at least that is what I would do). Write about a birthday party, yours personally. Maybe even a holiday. For me, when I turned 17 finally I thought that I would have this glamours and womanly transformation. I thought when I woke up the birds would be singing to me and I would hear angels harmonizing...But in reality, nothing changed. I didn't even look like I had aged. In fact, some people tell me that I looked younger than I am. IDK, I would do something like that.

For the holiday you could talk about your last time trick or treating and compare it to how cool it was when you were younger.
