Describe the structures of proteins and nucleic acids, and then explain the relationship between these two molecules within a cell.

Proteins are linked amino acids. Amino acids have a central alpha carbon which is bonded to a hydrogen, a carboxyl group, a amino group, and a R side group. Nucleic acids are made up of nucleotide monomers which are made up of a phosphate group, a nitrogenous base (single ringed or double ringed), and a pentose sugar (deoxyribose or ribose).
