Neolithic=New Stone Age. Stone tools can only get you so far. Good for hitting an animal in the head to kill and cook it but limited in growing your own food. About this time, people started liking bread and things made out of cereal crops.
The people (women) in charge of gathering the cereal, noticed that you could plant some of the cereal and it would grow where you want it instead of having to go look for it. The same thing could be done with animals. You could get them to hang around your house and not have to go looking for one to eat everyday.
People started having time for other stuff like making better tools.
Tool makers started messing around with melting some of the stones like copper, iron and stuff that makes bronze. Metal makes better tools.
Those things developed together. Better farming made more time to make stuff out of metal and better metal tools means better farming and weapons to kill more animals to eat. All of it makes for less time each day looking for dinner and some time to invent writing, wheels, math, astronomy and even better crops.

So what word are they looking for. I hate these guess the word questions. it's got to be a noun. So we have farming, tools, wheel. Any of those would fit grammatically. I'd say they are trying to get you to guess the word wheel. But farming makes more sense.
