What does it mean for someone to be an ambassador? cause I see some people with purple peace signs and next to their name says that

does that mean to be a future mod or just step higher than everyone else?

please explain

ambassadors are no different than regular users. they just earn the privelege of that super good looking A that i want

ambassadors original meaning was a representative of openstudy, a model user who would greet people, show them around the site ETC.

a lot of ambassadors over the years have become mods though,
some examples are
(@WhiteMonsterBunny17, i cant remember if you got the A, or if they skipped you becoming a ambassador to make you a mod (because originally you were going to be a ambi)
