Plz Help Will Medal!! :D 1. A student took two national aptitude tests that are both normally distributed. The national average and standard deviation for the first test was 475 and 100, while for the second test the corresponding values were 30 and 8. The student scored 625 on the first test and 45 on the second test. Determine which test the student performed better relative to the other test takers.

OpenStudy (twwc960):

The relevant quantity is how many standard deviations above the mean his score was. For the first test, this is (625-475)/100 = 1.5. For the second, it's (45-30)/8 = 1.875. So he did better on the second test relative to the other students.

Ah ok I understand it now thankyou!!! :D @twwc960
