In fact, the diseases spread so quickly that in some instances Indians became infected before they even had direct contact with Europeans. During the Columbian Exchange, "the most deadly of the early epidemics in America were those of eruptive fevers - smallpox, measles, typhus, and so on" (Crosby 42).

The Columbian Exchage created the world we live in. AfroEurAsia and the America's shared everything. Humans weren't the only species involved. Rats and such love to go for rides in boats and visit new places. I suppose disease does too
