plz help will medal and fan Lea buys 20 picture frames. Some are 4 in. by 6 in. frames which cost $5.80 each, and the rest are 5 in. by 7 in. frames that cost $9.60 each. She spends a total of $80.80. Which equation models this situation? Let f represent the number of 4 in. by 6 in. frames she buys. A. 9.6f + 5.8(20) = 80.8 B. 5.8f + 9.6(20 – f) = 80.8 C. (5.8 + 9.6)(20 – f) = 80.8 D. 9.6f + 5.8(f + 20) = 80.8

Elliminate the ones you know are wrong to make it easier.

OpenStudy (koolkid98):

a,c

OpenStudy (liziekay):

What's your reasoning?

OpenStudy (koolkid98):

they dont make any sence to me

OpenStudy (liziekay):

I wouldn't write it in any of the answers, I would do it as a system of equations to represent each frame, but since that's your answers, I would go with Do you understand why?

OpenStudy (koolkid98):

not really

OpenStudy (koolkid98):

OpenStudy (koolkid98):

is b right?

OpenStudy (liziekay):

So, I would think it's a

OpenStudy (koolkid98):

ok do you know a site that i can check to see if its right

OpenStudy (liziekay):

hmm, try google?

OpenStudy (danjs):

This is similar to another one i think i showed you... the info gives two equations, number total frames bought, and total cost g = 5x7 frames f = 4x6 frames 20 = e + f and 80.80 = 5.80 * f + 9.60 * g

OpenStudy (danjs):

20 = f + g 80.80 = 5.80 * f + 9.60 * g -------------------------- so from the first one, g = 20 - f put that into the second 80.80 = 5.80 * f + 9.60 * (20 - f)
