OpenStudy (sky7133):

Help me please! Solve and show work: -3^2= -3^2 = 9 And i'm not sure how to show my work...

OpenStudy (nermaljean99):

-3*-3 the negatives cancel out causing a positive 9 -(+)3*-(+)3=9 Make sense?

OpenStudy (sky7133):

kinda

OpenStudy (sky7133):

I got -9

OpenStudy (nermaljean99):

-9? You have to cancel the negatives to make positives.

Arcadiouse (arcadiouse):

Well, two negative numbers cancel the signs.

OpenStudy (sky7133):

so 3^2...?

OpenStudy (nermaljean99):

Yep. Now it would be just that

Arcadiouse (arcadiouse):

Basically yes,

OpenStudy (sky7133):

so thats how I show my work is just say 3^2 = 9

Arcadiouse (arcadiouse):

No. Your work would be 3 x 3 = 9

OpenStudy (sky7133):

Oh

OpenStudy (sky7133):

Thank you

OpenStudy (nermaljean99):
