I need help with Linear Programming. Other stuff I've learned so far I'm ok with, but now I've hit a brick wall. xD I especially have difficulty with word problems. 1. Adam needs both small and large cones to set up for a soccer practice. He knows there are fewer than 30 cones in the storage room. He needs at least a dozen large cones. Let x represent the number of small cones and y represent the number of large cones. Select all inequalities that model this situation.

Adam needs both small and large cones to set up for a soccer practice can you write 2 inequlities x> y> using Just the information in that sentence?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

He knows there are fewer than 30 cones in the storage room Write an inequality using just the information in THAT sentence: x+y <

OpenStudy (rosebud):

- x+y<30 -y>12 -x+y<(less than or equal to) 30 -x>(greater than or equal to) 0 -x>0 -y>(greater than or equal to) 12 ^ those are the inequalities for #1. I so far got: x+y<30 x>(greater than or equal to) 0 y>(greater than or equal to) 12 but not sure if it's right..

OpenStudy (rosebud):

For #2: Jude is placing boxes on a shelf that holds up to 80 lb. He has x small boxes that weigh 5 lb each and y large boxes that weigh 12 lb each. Jude needs at least 4 small boxes on the shelf. Select all inequalities that model this situation. -y>(greater than or equal to) 0 -x>(greater than or equal to) 4 -5x+12y<80 -y>0 -5x+12y<(less than or equal to) 80 -x>4 I got: y>(greater than or equal to) 0 x>(greater than or equal to) 4 5x+12y<(less than or equal to) 80 but not sure if it's correct...

3. Carmelo is selling his hockey and baseball card collection. Hockey cards, x, sell for $0.03 and baseball cards, y, sell for $0.05. Carmelo needs to sell at least six times more hockey cards than baseball cards. He has at most $25 cards to sell. What is the maximum profit he can make? A. $15.75 B. $24.75 C. $26.25 D. $28.50

OpenStudy (rosebud):

4. The triangular region shows the number of possible pepperoni slices, x, and the number of possible cheese slices, y, a pizza maker can use on a special pizza. Which combination of pepperoni and cheese can the pizza maker use? A. 25 pepperoni 20 cheese B. 43 pepperoni 25 cheese C. 33 pepperoni 15 cheese D. 38 pepperoni 30 cheese

OpenStudy (rosebud):

5. The triangular region shows the number of possible red apples, x, and the number of possible green apples, y, a person can use in a fruit basket. Which combination of red Y green apples can the person use? A. 30 red 18 green B. 40 red 12 green C. 40 red 35 green D. 35 red 30 green
